As Sunday approaches and betting activity picks up in Las Vegas, you might have thought it would alter the point spread. But so far, it hasn’t. After opening as 2.5 point favorites across most sportsbooks, the most common point spread quickly moved to three points in Green Bay’s favor, and it’s stayed there ever since. You can still find a few sites or casinos offering less, but on the whole, Green Bay’s your favorite, and your line is three points.
Packers Vs. Steelers Line Holding Steady, Green Bay Still Favored By 3
It’s still a little surprising, though. Maybe it’s the injuries to Aaron Smith or Maurkice Pouncey, maybe it’s the Packers’ (and Aaron Rodgers’) offensive dominance the past few weeks, or maybe it’s America’s love affair with Green Bay, but for whatever reason, the Steelers don’t seem to be getting the respect they deserve in this game. And as we said on Monday, maybe that will work to their advantage in the end.
For now, though, the odds remain unchanged, and the over/under is somewhere between 44 and 46 depending on where you’re looking. Of course, a lot can change between now and Sunday. And after a while, you have to think that the public will start backing Pittsburgh, and that line will fall as we get closer to the actual game. It’s not that Pittsburgh’s better than Green Bay, but... Are we really sure Green Bay is 3 points better than Pittsburgh?
