Lil Wayne Gives Super Bowl XLV And Packers Fans A New Theme Song

Chances are you’ve heard Pittsburgh-native Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” about 1,000,000 times the past few weeks. It’s become the theme song to the 2010 Steelers and their fans, and a scourge on sanity for the rest of us. He even performed at the AFC Championship Game.

But for the record, even if the song’s gotten annoying, that beat is still pretty great. It’s just the idea of a Steelers theme song that’s so hard to embrace. And that’s where Lil Wayne comes in to speak up for the rest of us, taking the beat we love so much, and using it to make fun of terrible towels and the steel curtain. Wayne’s in Wisconsin smokin’ Amsterdam:

As an avowed member of the Cult of Weezy, I’ll say up front—it’s not his best work. But it’s still cool that he’d even make a song like this in the first place, with lines like, “Throw it up, touchdown on Ike Taylor.” And it gives Packers fans (and Steelers haters) an answer to that damn Black and Yellow song. Now someone just needs to get video of Mike McCarthy saying this:

We knocked the Eagles, the Falcons, and the Bears off,
Now we ‘bout to cut Troy Polamalu’s hair off

BOOM. Check out the full lyrics here.
