Red Wings’ Jimmy Howard Leaves Friday Game With Bruised Knee

Goaltender Jimmy Howard of the Detroit Red Wings left Friday night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with a knee injury and has not returned.

He took a shot from Derick Brassard just above the right knee in what looked to be the little space that can go unprotected between the leg pad and the padded pant.

Here’s video:

Joey Macdonald replaced Howard. The Wings are already down one goalie on the year after losing Chris Osgood to a groin injury. He's not expected to be back for a few more weeks, either. Hopefully Howard's not out too long.
