Ryan O’Reilly Takes Header Into Boards, Leaves Game On Stretcher

Scary injury tonight in Minnesota where the Wild are hosting the Colorado Avalanche. At the start of a Wild power play, Ryan O'Reilly of the Avalanche was pursuing the puck near the blue line when he tripped and tumbled into the boards.

It appeared as though his upper back or neck took the brunt of the impact, and as he crumpled on the ice, you could see in his face that he was immediately concerned. Despite full consciousness, O’Reilly opted not to move. Trainers came out, doctors came out and eventually, a stretcher came out. He didn’t move at all.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
