NFL Trade Rumors: Brandon Lloyd On Trading Block, According To Report

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is on the trading block, according to a report.

The Denver Broncos made a quarterback change, but they could potentially be making a change at wide receiver, too. The Broncos have been in talks that could see wide receiver Brandon Lloyd traded before the NFL trade deadline, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.

With the NFL trade deadline looming, the Broncos have been in talks with other teams regarding Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd, according to three NFL sources.

The Broncos are believed to be seeking anywhere from a third to fifth round draft pick in return. There have been “three or four” teams who have expressed interest in Lloyd, according to a source, with Carolina and Tennessee believed to be among them.

Lloyd, who is the Broncos leading receiver, is coming off a Pro Bowl year in 2010. He is also a free agent at the end of the 2011 season and the Broncos have three young wide receivers they like in Eddie Royal, Eric Decker, and former first round pick Demaryius Thomas. Thomas and Decker are both expected back after the Broncos bye week, which would be after the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday. Currently, Lloyd is on the books for only $1.395 for the season and led the NFL last year with nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Broncos are thought to be moving to a more run oriented offense under Tim Tebow and Lloyd has already noted he preferred to play with Kyle Orton over Tebow. It's unlikely Lloyd would be signed long term or even return in free agency, so the Broncos are looking to get something for him while they can.
