2011 World Series Game 2 Preview: Time, TV Schedule And More

The St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers take the field in Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday. The Cardinals hold a 1-0 series lead.

Game 1 of the 2011 World Series is in the book and the St. Louis Cardinals hold a 1-0 advantage over the Texas Rangers. Playing at home with their ace, Chris Carpenter, on the mound, the Cardinals managed to squeak by the Rangers on Wednesday night, 3-2.

It was a low-scoring pitchers duel on Wednesday, with the Cardinals putting two on the board in the fourth, the Rangers answering half an inning later and St. Louis scoring the go-ahead, and game-winning, run in the bottom of the six. Once again, the St. Louis bullpen hung on, locking down the Rangers to preserve the win.

On Thursday, the Cardinals look to hold onto their home-field advantage with a win before the series heads to Texas for Game 3. Here’s the quick information for Game 2.

Start time: 8:05 p.m. EDT

TV coverage: FOX

Projected starters and their postseason stats: Colby Lewis (2-2, 3.86 ERA) vs. Jaime Garcia (3-3, 5.74 ERA)
