On Saturday, a lively Big East rivalry tips off as the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals play host to the No. 12 Syracuse Orange (12 p.m., ESPN). Both teams are hoping to bounce back from disappointing losses.
Louisville Vs. Syracuse: No. 16 Cardinals Host No. 12 Orange At Yum! Center For First Time
Louisville suffered a crushing loss on Wednesday, when they took No. 8 Notre Dame to overtime in South Bend before ultimately falling, 89-79. The Cardinals, who rank fifth in the nation in assists, are 7-4 in the Big East and 18-6 overall.
Similarly, Syracuse also looks to rebound from a loss to a Big East rival. On Wednesday, they were dropped at home by No. 11 Georgetown, 64-56.
These teams are meeting for the only time this season, and for the first time since March 6th of last year. In Louisville’s final game at Freedom Hall, the Cardinals dealt Syracuse, then the No. 1 team in the nation, a 78-68 loss.
