On Saturday in Louisville, the No. 16 Cardinals have brought a 10-point lead over No. 12 Syracuse into halftime. Rick Pitino’s squad leads, 40-30, thanks to a barrage of three-pointers.
In 20 minutes of play, the Cardinals attempted 17 three-pointers and sunk nine of them, accounting for 27 of their 40 points. Preston Knowles capped the half with a buzzer-beating three-pointer that was a full five feet behind the arc. Knowles leads his team with 16 points, and he already has four steals. Kyle Kuric, who is 3-for-3 from three-point range, has 11 points.
On the Syracuse side of the ball, Scoop Jardine leads with 12 points, with Brandon Triche and C.J. Fair chipping in with seven apiece. Jim Boeheim’s squad is shooting better from the field than Louisville (50 percent to 43.8 percent), but Louisville is getting more looks, as they’ve attempted 32 shots to Syracuse’s 20.
