According to multiple first-hand reports on Twitter, Sporting Kansas City and United States National Team striker Teal Bunbury suffered a major elbow injury during a scrimmage against the Houston Dynamo. According to Zach Woosley, editor of SBNation's Houston Dynamo blog Dynamo Theory, Bunbury went down after becoming tangled with Andrew Hainault. An ambulance was immediately summoned and the 20-year-old striker was taken directly to the hospital.

Early diagnosis is a dislocated elbow for Teal Bunbury (@TealBunB). He is on his way to the hospital for tests. #SportingKC #MLS
Obviously any injury which keeps Bunbury out for a significant length of time would be a huge blow for Sporting KC. While not a prolific goal scorer in his first season in MLS, Bunbury showed a great deal of promise as a creative withdrawn forward in 2010. The young striker's performances last season were enough to earn him a call-up to Bob Bradley's US National Team squad in November. He has played two games for the USMNT and scored the equalizing goal in their most recent game against Chile. Watch this stream for more about this story as it develops.
