The New Jersey Devils are 9-1-2 in their last 12 games, and suddenly, they look like the team everybody expected them to be this year. Nevermind that it's probably too little, too late, it's not so embarrassing to be a Devils fan right now. That hot stretch continued on Sunday as the Devils beat up the Montreal Canadiens by a final score of 4-1.
Devils Vs. Canadiens: Martin Brodeur Goes Down, But Ilya Kovalchuk Powers New Jersey To Win
Ilya Kovalchuk scored two goals and notched two assists, matched only by Travis Zajac's one goal and three assists. Dainius Zubrus added a goal for New Jersey, while P.K. Subban scored the lone goal for Montreal.
There was some bad news for New Jersey, though. Martin Brodeur "tweaked" his knee late in the firstperiod. It's reported that he'll be just fine and that it's not a major injury, but Brodeur said it wasn't 100 percent and that he didn't want to go back in as a result. Johan Hedberg made 14 of 15 saves in relief.
