Fortunately, the ball, which could have come much harder off the bat of a slugger like Manny Ramirez, appeared to be a bit of a looper, and it it was very encouraging to see him appear alert while on the ground. The severity of Oswalt's injury hasn't yet been determined, so we don't yet know whether his first regular-season start will have to be pushed back. The Phillies' regular season begins in nine days, on April 1st.
