Via the great Paul Lukas comes word that the Angels will use a special baseball during their home games this season, featuring a new 50th anniversary logo. I started to wonder if this logo might make it easier or harder for batters to pick up the spin of the ball, but then I realized the Commissioner must have a Blue Ribbon team of baseball scientists to test things like this before they’re implemented.
