Several days ago, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Nyjer Morgan suffered a deep thigh bruise during a collision at home plate with Pirates catcher Ryan Doumit. The injury has kept him out of the lineup, and although he's appeared as a pinch-hitter, on Thursday Tom Haudricourt tells us that the Brewers are almost certainly going to place Morgan on the disabled list.
Nyjer Morgan Going On DL With Leg Injury
Looks like Brewers are getting ready to place OF Nyjer Morgan (thigh) on the DL. Top candidate to be called up is Nashville OF Brandon Boggs
Obviously a deep thigh bruise isn’t a major problem that will keep Morgan out for months and months, but Morgan’s the kind of player who succeeds with his legs, so when one of them is hurt, the effectiveness of the overall package is reduced.
Morgan has gone 10-22 on the young season with two doubles and two triples. Thankfully for the Brewers, who are running low on outfielders, Corey Hart should return from a rehab stint very soon.
