The Netherlands’ Eredivisie has come down to the final round to decide the title, and both Twente an Ajax control their own destiny. The top two teams meet in a final round title decider, with Twente leading in the table by one point, and therefore, simply needing a draw to win their second straight Eredivisie.
Ajax Vs. Twente, Dutch Eredivisie: Final Round Title Decider In Amsterdam
In the Dutch Cup final last weekend, Twente and Ajax played each not only for silverware, but for momentum going into the title decider. That match was tied 2-2 after relegation, and Marc Janko scored the winner for Twente deep into extra time.
The first time these two teams met, Theo Jansson, many people’s player of the year in Holland, scored a brace for Twente as they drew Ajax 2-2. So, the results between the two teams have been almost identical so far this season, making it difficult to predict the outcome of this one. However, with Twente only needing a draw to win the title, they’re very much in the driver’s seat on Sunday.
