Zach Brown had a huge freshman season for Wisconsin Badgers football, rushing for 568 yards, but his success has not yet translated into extensive playing time. As a result, the fifth-year senior who is set to graduate from August is not returning to the team this fall and exploring transfer options, as reported by SB Nation's Wisconsin Badgers blog, Bucky's 5th Quarter. If Brown completes his academic commitments on time, he will retain one year of eligibility.
Running Back Zach Brown To Leave Wisconsin Badgers Football, Transfer
Here's an excerpt from Bret Bielema's statement on Brown's decision to leave the team, via Bucky's 5th Quarter:
“We would like to thank Zach for all his contributions over the last four years. He decided it was in his best interests to explore his transfer options. Because he has taken care of his business academically, he has the chance to go somewhere and play right away. He is a great person and player and has handled himself the right way throughout his four years at Wisconsin. We wish him the best of luck in his future.”
There is not yet any word on where Brown plans to transfer.
