In 1968, Ken "Hawk" Harrelson hit three home runs in a game for the Boston Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians. At no point did anyone in the stadium yell "YOUOOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOOOOOOARRRRD! YEAAAAHES YEAAAAAHES! YEAAAAAHES!" This is because people were civilized back then.
White Sox Vs. Rangers: Carlos Quentin Hits Three Bombs In Road Win

In 2011, Carlos Quentin hit three home runs in one game, and there was certainly some yelling. But, heck, you can’t blame the guy. It was pretty exciting. And Quentin’s home runs powered the Chicago White Sox to an 8-6 victory on the road over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
Since 1919, there have now been 498 three-homer games in the regular season, but there’s an excellent chance that Quentin went longest between his first and third home run, as the game was interrupted with a rain delay that STRETCHED, STRETCHED, STRETCHED to almost three hours.

Quentin kicked off the scoring in the first inning, hitting a solo shot off of Rangers starter Derek Holland. Josh Hamilton singled in a run to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first. Last year’s MVP finished 3-for-5 on the night in his second game off the disabled list.
But Quentin widened the gap in the third off Holland again, going opposite field for a three-run shot. The Rangers tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth, but the White Sox came right back in the sixth. Adam Dunn hit his fifth home run, and Brent Morel added an RBI single. An Alex Rios double in the seventh gave the Sox a 7-5 lead.
Texas threatened in the eighth, putting two runners on with no outs, but Elvis Andrus grounded into a run-scoring double play. An infield single and a walk put two more runners on to mount a new threat, but Adrian Beltre lined out to kill it.
Dave Bush tried to keep the game close in the top of the ninth, but Quentin struck again, putting his third home run on the board -- a no-doubt line drive into the left-field pavilion. Sergio Santos pitched a quiet ninth for the save.
The series continues on Wednesday with Gavin Floyd going for the White Sox against C.J. Wilson.
