With one out in the top of the eighth inning at Target Field in Minneapolis, the Angels’ Peter Bourjos hit a sharp ground ball down the left field line, past third baseman Danny Valencia, to break up the no-hitter being thrown by the Twins’ Anthony Swarzak.
Angels’ Peter Bourjos Breaks Up Anthony Swarzak’s No-Hitter
The game result is still in doubt, as the Twins have only two hits themselves off the Angels’ Jered Weaver. So, the game continued scoreless with one out in the top of the eighth inning, with Hank Conger facing Swarzak. Conger popped up in foul territory and the play was made by the Twins’ Valencia.
Alexi Amarista batted for Reggie Willits and ended the inning by flying out to Denard Span, so the game goes to the last of the eighth inning with only three hits total, two singles by the Twins and one by the Angels.
We’ll recap this game here after it concludes.
