Minnesota Twins righthander Anthony Swarzak, who was inserted into the Twins rotation at the last minute Saturday due to a minor shoulder problem with scheduled starter Francisco Liriano, has not allowed a hit to the Los Angeles Angels through the first seven innings.
Twins Vs. Angels: Anthony Swarzak Throwing No-Hitter Through Seven Innings
He's issued a pair of walks, one each to Reggie Willits and Alberto Callaspo. Swarzak made one start earlier this season for the Twins, but has been mostly in the bullpen and spent the entire 2010 season in the minor leagues after making 12 starts for the Twins in 2009.
The most interesting thing about this no-hitter is that the Twins themselves have managed just two hits through seven innings off Angels starter Jered Weaver, so the game is scoreless as it moves into the eighth inning.
Also, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire was ejected arguing a call in the sixth inning, when Denard Span was picked off second base.
We’ll continue to update this stream as the game continues.
