I don't know how many people were holding their breath when Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista went in for an MRI on Tuesday. Hopefully nobody, since MRIs take a pretty long time. But now we've got results, and the news isn't bad. They didn't find a hundred dollars wedged between Bautista's vertebrae or anything, but they also didn't find anything nasty. Writes John Lott:
Jose Bautista MRI Reveals Neck Inflammation
Farrell: Bautista MRI shows no structural damage, just muscle inflammation. "We've got to let that subside."
So Bautista’s got an inflamed neck, which is a weird thing to say, but nothing more sinister. He’ll probably have to sit out for a few days while the swelling goes away, which will leave a gaping hole in the Blue Jays lineup. But being without Bautista for a few days is a lot better than being without Bautista for a few weeks. So this is pretty good news.
