Bruins Vs. Flyers, Game 3: Philadelphia Faces Must Win On Road In Boston

We know that an 0-3 comeback is rare, and it's almost impossible that one team can do it to another two years in a row. In other words, if the Philadelphia Flyers fall to the Boston Bruins in Game 3, they're likely not moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Thus, Wednesday night's game at TD Garden between the two clubs is a must-win for Philadelphia. After Game 2 in Philly on Monday night, that shouldn't seem too far-fetched. The Flyers completely dominated that game, especially in the third period and overtime, but were thwarted by the phenomenal goaltending of Tim Thomas.

For the Flyers, it’s all about carry over. Can they keep that dominating offensive performance up? If they do, you have to think they’ll have success, but it’s also important to get to Thomas early before he settles in. In Game 2, the Flyers quickly scored two goals on Thomas but couldn’t hold that lead, and Thomas turned it on during the tie game and Boston ultimately won it in overtime.

Brian Boucher will be in goal for Philadelphia, and Jeff Carter is expected to be back in the lineup for the Flyers as well. That should help them offensively, but overlooked is the defensive play of Carter which should help as well, even if he isn't at 100 percent health after a knee injury.

Adam McQuaid is out for the Bruins after injuring his neck on a failed check in Game 2. Shane Hnidy will replace him on the blueline. You can catch the action on Versus at 7 p.m. ET, and for more coverage, check in with Broad Street Hockey and Stanley Cup of Chowder.
