Alexi Ogando Misses Sunday Start, Expected Back Friday
Texas Rangers starter Alexi Ogando was expected to miss his scheduled start against the Yankees on Sunday afternoon because of a blister, and that’s exactly what happened. Anthony Andro (via the Star-Telegram):
Sunday, David Bush started in Ogando’s place against the Yankees, and gave up two runs in the first four innings but was lifted after Derek Jeter led off the fifth with his first home run of the season. At that point the Rangers still led 4-3, but wound up losing 12-5 when the bullpen (especially Cody Eppley) collapsed.

ESPN also notes that Ogando has a fake nail on the finger to help protect the blister, which is just a little too “Black Swan” for my tastes. It seems like the Rangers are taking a day-to-day approach with the blister, and there is likely no DL time in the immediate future.
The Rangers were off Thursday, so there’s no need yet for another starting pitcher.
