UFC 130 Spike TV Preliminary Fights Average 1.3 Million Viewers

According to Spike TV officials, UFC 130's preliminary fights pulled in a .9 household rating. Specifically, the hour-long show did a 1.03 in males 18 to 49 and 18 to 34. The average audience for the program was 1.3 million viewers.

Spike TV officials note that among basic cable networks, Spike ranked first among males 18 to 49. The program peaked with 1,499,000 in the final quarter hour of the program, meaning from 8:45 p.m. ET to 9:00 p.m. ET. The pay-per-view portion of the card begin at 9 p.m. ET.

The UFC 130 Spike TV preliminary card featured two fights. Middleweights Kendall Grove and Tim Boetsch competed first followed by a bantamweight fight between Miguel Torres and Demetrious Johnson.

Forecasting pay-per-view buyrates from these figures is difficult, but given the loss of the initial main event for UFC 130 as well as the low-level of casual fan enthusiasm for the card, these ratings numbers for the Spike portion of the card are respectable.
