The Minnesota Twins' Francisco Liriano, who threw a no-hitter earlier this season against the Chicago White Sox, has allowed no hits through seven innings against the Texas Rangers at Target Field Sunday afternoon.
Twins’ Francisco Liriano Has No-Hitter Through Seven Innings
There's been one somewhat controversial call already in this game. In the top of the seventh, the Rangers' Elvis Andrus apparently got a hit off third baseman Luke Hughes' glove. However, the official scorer changed the ruling to an error. Andrus wound up on second base, but was stranded there. Here's a look at the play:

As rough as the first no-hitter by Liriano was -- he walked six -- this one has been a model of efficiency. Liriano was perfect for the first 19 batters until Andrus reached. He has thrown only 73 pitches through seven innings.
Only four pitchers have thrown two no-hitters during any single regular season: Johnny Vander Meer of the Reds (back-to-back starts) in 1938; Allie Reynolds of the Yankees in 1951; Virgil Trucks of the Tigers in 1952; and Nolan Ryan of the Angels in 1973. In addition, Roy Halladay threw a perfect game against the Marlins last year and then no-hit the Reds in their postseason division series.
