Some "legitimate businessmen" from around the neighborhood asked the Chicago Cubs if they wanted to pay outfielder insurance, and the Cubs declined. Since then, just about every Cubs outfielder has gone on the disabled list. Here's a list of players who have played in the Cubs' outfield this season: Blake DeWitt, Tyler Colvin, Tony Campana, Reed Johnson, Brad Snyder, Luis Montanez, Jeff Baker, Kosuke Fukudome, Marlon Byrd, and Alfonso Soriano.
Alfonso Soriano Activated Off Disabled List
Half of those players have been missing for months, possibly after being involved in a freak riverboat accident. But there’s some good news, though, as Soriano has been located, and the Cubs activated him on Wednesday. Soriano will patrol left field again after recovering from his quad injury, and he’ll try to keep his slugging percentage over .500 while raising his on-base percentage above .300.
Soriano's return sets off a chain reaction of lineup moves. With Johnson just off the DL, he'll likely split time with Colvin in center, while DeWitt will move to his natural position at second with Darwin Barney on the DL.
