College World Series 2011, South Carolina Vs. Texas A&M Score: Early Offense Turns Into Pitching Duel For Aggies, Gamecocks

After eight total runs between South Carolina and Texas A&M in their 2011 College World Series game, it quickly turned into another contest favoring the pitchers. The score remains tied at four through six innings.

South Carolina’s starter, Michael Roth, has issued five walks so far, but just two since the second inning. He’s also struck out seven and since the start of the second inning just two hits have come off of his pitches. A double play in the fourth inning squandered a leadoff single by the Aggies. All four runs he allowed were unearned.

Ross Stripling has also rebounded from his early shakiness and the team’s faulty defense in the first innings. He held the Gamecocks to those four runs in six innings. Stripling has six strikeouts to one walk.

This game now has the feeling that one bad pitch could be the difference between a win and a loss. Which team will be able to come out on top?
