The Los Angeles Angels were on a charter plane returning from Kansas City Wednesday night, when the airplane's hydraulics went out. The plane, originally expected to land at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, had to make an emergency landing at LAX instead.

That’s weird. If they’re the Los Angeles Angels, why would they be scheduled to land at John Wayne Airport in Orange County? I’ll bet an intern got fired for that one.
If it's okay to make jokes, it's probably a story with a happy ending. And it is! Everyone is fine, though probably a little shaken up. And they were probably still a little bummed after losing to the Royals on Billy Butler's walkoff homer.
CBS Los Angeles was already reporting on the emergency landing when Angels announcer Victor Rojas tweeted thusly:

People put two and two together, and it suddenly became a little bigger story. But everything’s okay! Live it up! Just breathe into a paper bag for a bit. And if you’re wondering what would happen if the unthinkable happened, well, there are contingency plans in place. The one in that link might be defunct by now, but there are plans.
