Nearly two decades after the fact, O.J. Simpson has confessed to the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
O.J. Simpson Confesses To Murder Of Nicole Brown, According To Report
Allegedly.
The National Enquirer (via NESN.com) reports that O.J. Simpson confessed to the murder of his ex-wife and Goldman to a producer for Oprah Winfrey and that there are plans for him to repeat the confession to Oprah in a televised interview.
The initial interview took place in prison, where Simpson is serving a nine-year sentence for kidnapping and robbery. Simpson claimed he stabbed Nicole in self-defense.
According to the report, Simpson went on to give a detailed account of the 1994 murders.
Oprah’s people, however, say that’s not the case. Via Hollywood Reporter:
Despite a National Enquirer report that Simpson confessed from prison to murdering ex wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, a rep for Harpo tells The Hollywood Reporter, "That's not true."
The timing of the news isn’t completely out of the blue as it was just last week that Oprah said publicly that one of her dreams for her TV network, OWN, was to have Simpson confessing to her.
“I have a dream of O.J. Simpson confessing to me. And I am going to make that happen, people. I don’t just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson,” she added.
Simpson was known in NFL circles before all of this as one of the greatest running backs of all-time. He was the Buffalo Bills top overall pick in the 1969 draft after winning the 1968 Heisman trophy at USC.
