John Danks Injury: MRI Reveals Minor Oblique Strain
A minor oblique strain is still an oblique strain, but this reduces Danks’ timetable. Now, instead of missing a month or more, Danks could return to the rotation just after the All-Star break. That is, of course, as long as his oblique heals the way that it’s supposed to. Pretty much everything about the human oblique is super annoying so I guess you never know.
Conveniently for the White Sox, with Danks on the DL, they can just shift from a six-man rotation to the more normal five. And when Danks returns, they’ll go back to six again. Why should life be complicated?

Of course, there is no such thing as too much reliable pitching. Let’s hope Danks makes a speedy recovery. Entering Saturday’s game, Danks was the owner of a 4.29 ERA and 1.375 WHIP though 92.1 innings.
