Now that the Big Ten finally has its long-sought-after 12th school in the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a Big Ten football championship game is a reality. And if one wants to attend this game, it will only require a trip to Indianapolis to catch all the action. Jeff Rabjohns of the Indianapolis Star reports that the Big Ten has chosen Lucas Oil Stadium to be the site of its conference title game, and that Chicago will alternate with Indianapolis in hosting the men's basketball tournament.

The Big Ten football championship game is a four-year deal with the city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium, which also will host the 2012 Super Bowl (pending an actual NFL season taking place). The Stagg-Paterno Championship Trophy will be awarded for the first time to the victor of the Leaders vs. Legends clash.
The basketball tournament, currently held at Conseco Field House since 2008, will finish its current deal through 2012 and began alternating with the United Center in Chicago, which begins host duties again in 2013. From 2002-2007, Chicago and Indianapolis alternated host duties.
