QB Matt Hasselbeck will not be returning to the Seattle Seahawks so QB Tarvaris Jackson is moving in. According to Danny O'Neill of the Seattle Times, Jackson and the Seahawks have agreed to terms on a contract.
NFL Free Agency: Tarvaris Jackson, Seahawks Agree To Contract
Former Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson is headed to Seattle, according to a pair of reports on Tuesday. Danny O'Neill of the Seattle Times reports Jackson and the Seahawks have agreed to terms on a contract.
Teams and players can negotiate contracts but can’t actually sign them until 6:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday but Jackson is on his way to Seattle tonight.
The move makes sense based on Jackson’s experience with his former offensive coordinator, Darrell Bevell, but Jackson remains an unknown after the Vikings made him a second round pick in the 2006 draft. He’s started 20 games in his career winning exactly half of them which is slightly below his career passing percentage.
Now Jackson enters a quarterback race with QB Charlie Whitehurst in Seattle and that's one he can win. He has a brighter future in Seattle than Minnesota, where the Vikings drafted QB Christian Ponder last April.
