Kicker Shaun Suisham Re-Signs With Steelers

Shaun Suisham re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, rewarding him for a career season in which he connected on 14 of 15 field goal attempts and converted all 19 extra points after taking over for an ineffective Jeff Reed near midseason. The move was first reported by Canadian newspaper Chatham-Kent Daily Post and has since been confirmed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazzette.

Suisham has now played for four teams and spent time on the roster of five teams. He was actually originally drafted by the Steelers, but never played for them until last year. Over his six-season NFL career, he has hit 80.8 percent of his 125 field goal attempts.

He is probably best known for the four seasons he spent with the Washington Redskins. Despite a decent run of success, his defining moment came on Dec. 6, 2009 when he missed a 23-yard field goal against the New Orleans Saints, who entered the game undefeated. The Redskins eventually lost in overtime and he was cut a few days later.
