Dawan Landry Signs With Jaguars, Reports Indicate

In drastic need of a defensive overhaul, the Jacksonville Jaguars continued to go about filling holes by adding safety Dawan Landry, according to the Florida Times-Union. Landry is the third high-profile defensive player the Jaguars have reportedly signed in the last couple days, joining linebackers Paul Posluszny and Clint Session.

Last year, the Jaguars were among the worst defensive teams, ranking 28th while allowing an average of 371.8 yards per game and a league-worst 6.3 yards per play. Their pass defense was especially horrendous, surrendering a league-worst 8.3 yards per passing play.

The Jaguars will be counting on Landry to help change that, reportedly signing him to a five-year contract. Paired up with All-Pro safety Ed Reed while with the Baltimore Ravens, Landry is coming off his most productive season as a pro, as he registered 111 tackles. He started all 32 games over the past two seasons for a defense that is regularly considered among the league's best.
