The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, ticking off one of their more important to-do items of the NFL free agency period. Whatever Mebane lacks in jaw dropping numbers, the two-year deal the Seahawks gave him suggest they saw his value beyond the stat sheet.
Brandon Mebane, Seattle Seahawks Agree To Contract
Mebane missed four games last season, but started the 12 in which he played. He also made just 31 tackles and registered one sack and will likely enter training camp as the starter once again. He'll likely be slotted in alongside Colin Cole, Red Bryant and Chris Clemons, a group that they will be counting on to improve upon last year's performance. The Seahawks ranked 27th in total defense, allowing 368.6 yards per game. They also allowed 25.4 points per game, the 25th best average in the league.
The Seahawks have also announced the re-signing of defensive tackle Junior Siavii and the signing of Alan Branch.
