The whereabouts of Sean Matti, a Purdue running back who disappeared over the weekend while swimming in Monticello, Indiana remain unknown, with friends and local and state law enforcement personnel comb in and around Lake Freeman, where he was last seen Sunday night. Matti had been attending a party at a friend's lake house, and was last seen in the water around 5:00, according to other partygoers who began the search. Lafayette's Journal & Courier has more details on the search, as well as a statement from the school:
Purdue Football Player Missing Since Sunday Night
“He’s a good program guy. A scout team contributor who is well liked by his teammates,” said Tom Schott, Purdue associate athletic director.
The Journal & Courier reports that the search for Matti has resumed early Tuesday morning. SB Nation’s Purdue blog, Hammer and Rails, reminds its readership that anyone with information that could help with the investigation should contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. Our sincere best wishes to Matti’s family and the Purdue football community for Sean’s safe return.
