Cam Newton made his NFL debut, taking the majority of the snaps for the Carolina Panthers in a 20-10 win over the New York Giants. Newton relieved Jimmy Clausen, who was 4-7 for 69 yards, a touchdown and an interception, in the second quarter, completing his first pass on his first snap. While he wasn't perfect, the former Auburn quarterback did show positive signs, though his mechanics still need work.
