Jake Locker's NFL career began on the right foot on Saturday night as the Tennessee Titans downed the Minnesota Vikings, 14-3. Matt Hasselbeck began the game for the Titans, giving way to Locker after completing five of six passes for 55 yards early on. With Locker at the helm, the Tennessee offense fared well, perhaps giving fans a glimpse of the future.

Locker completed seven of 10 passes for 89 yards and the Titans' only passing touchdown of the game. In the second quarter, Locker found Yamon Figurs for 45 yards and the score, giving the Titans a 7-0 lead. The rookie quarterback was at the helm as the Titans scored their second touchdown of the game a short time later, coming on a two-yard Jamie Harper plunge.
Christian Ponder also made his debut, but didn't fare quite as well, though his start was far from disastrous. The rookie out of Florida State completed eight of 13 passes for 84 yards to lead the Vikings' quarterbacks. Donovan McNabb was 6-11 for 40 yards and Joe Webb completed four of eight passes for 45 yards, but also threw an interception.
