While the Bayern Munich vs. FC Zurich match is the big draw in terms of today’s Champions League action, there’s a fair few lesser-known teams than Bayern going at it today for a chance to make it to domestic football’s biggest stage. Unfortunately, some of these teams are lesser-known because they’re really quite boring.
UEFA Champions League: Half-Time Score Update For Villarreal, Racing Genk And More
Wisla Krakow vs. APOEL Nicosia
0-0 at half time in what is by most accounts a horrendous match. ESPN isn’t tracking the stats for the game, but I would suggest that even if they were you wouldn’t see too many differences in the shots column.
Dinamo Zagreb vs. Malmo FF
Zagreb snatched an early lead against Malmo, who knocked out Rangers in the previous round. It wouldn’t last very long, however, as Agon Mehmeti struck in the 17th minute to level the scores and net an away goal. It’s now 1-1 at halftime, so advantage to the Swedes.
Maccaibi Haifa vs. Racing Genk
The Israelis go into half time of their home leg up 2-0 over their Belgian guests. Weam Amasha scored in the 8th minute and Georgian Vladimer Dvalishvili doubled their advantage twenty minutes later. Genk don’t really look like the team that won the Belgian first division last year - having Kevin de Bruyne out with an injury hasn’t helped them at all.
Odense SK vs. Villarreal
Also a pretty poor game. It’s 0-0 at halftime with a lot of niggly fouling and not much in terms of chances. Odense are outplaying their guests and hit the post fairly early on, but other than that, nothing doing. Not much fun at all.
