Little League World Series Scores: Japan Dominant In Opening Day Victory

The 2011 Little League World Series kicked off Thursday morning with four opening day games.

The 2011 Little League World Series (LLWS) kicked off Thursday morning, opening with an exciting four-game block of baseball action. Teams from the United States and International divisions each claimed two victories throughout the day.

Mexican representative Seguro Social LL defeated Asia-Pacific representative Ching-Tang LL, 3-0, in the tournament’s first game at Volunteer Stadium. Starting pitcher Jorge Jacobo led the squad, tossing a 12-strikeout shutout to open the LLWS in style.

Also notable, Japanese representative Hamamatsu Minami LL crushed Caribbean representative Aruba North LL, 12-1, in the day’s afternoon matchup. Starting pitcher Yoshiki Suzuki broke the game open for the defending Little League baseball World Series Champions, belting a monstrous grand slam that kicked off a six-run second inning.

Friday’s action starts at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT, as MEA representative Arabian American LL takes on Canadian representative Langley LL. All four games will be broadcasted on ESPN or ESPN2, and will be available for live streaming on ESPN.com.
