So QB Tom Brady may be too good at his job. At least that's according to Tampa Bay Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy. Brady and the New England Patriots visited Tampa on Thursday night to play the Bucs and walked away with a 31-14 victory, including a 21-0 score in the first quarter.
Just like the first preseason game for the Patriots, they walked away in dominating fashion. What’s interesting though is how they did it, on the first team in particular. Bucs DT Gerald McCoy was on 620 WDAE in Tampa after the game and talked about the speed of Brady and the Pats offense.
“Man, I’m telling you man, they came out, they’d turn around huddle, snap, oh, ‘There’s the Mike, Go!‘ I was like, ‘Dang! Um, Mr. Brady, can we line up?’ He didn’t care. He was like, ‘You’re not going to line up.‘ When we turned around one time I checked back around and my hand was going to the grass and they were like, ‘Hut!’ And I said, ‘Noooooooooooo!’”
It’s not enough to simply know the offense, or be able to recite everyone’s jobs on a particular play. You need to do all that and be able to apply it in real time. Obviously, Brady is among the best at that, which showed on Thursday night.
