It's the Tyne-Wear Derby, in which both fans will be extremely loud and passionate, but the rest of the world will wondering what they're arguing about because they can't tell the difference between Sunderland and Newcastle. Of course, I can tell the difference because I'm educated! Sunderland are famous for Delia Smith's "let's be 'avin ya!" speech, while Newcastle are most famous for hitting people with paper bricks and not caring if anyone hates them.
Sunderland Vs. Newcastle United: Lineups
(Someone just poked me and informed me that I'm thinking of Norwich City and Millwall. Crap.)
Okay, all jokes aside, this rivalry gets intense and it’s only better when both teams are considered to be on reasonably equal footing, which they are at present. Fans of each team will both be insulted that I think their team is about as good as their rival. Here are the lineups.
Sunderland lineup (4-4-1-1): Mignolet; Bardsley, Richardson, Ferdinand, Brown; Cattermole, Larsson, Colback, Elmohamady; Sessegnon; Gyan
Substitutes from: Westwood, Bramble, Laing, Gardner, Vaughan, Wickham, Ji
Newcastle lineup (4-5-1): Krul; Simpson, S.Taylor, Coloccini, R.Taylor; Gutierrez, Cabaye, Barton, Tiote, Obertan; Ameobi
Substitutes from: Harper, Williamson, Lovenkrands, Gosling, Ba, Best, Marveaux
Kickoff is at 7:00 am ET, 1:00 pm BST and the game can be seen on ESPN3 in the USA.
