Speaking of silly, what on earth was Emmanuel Frimpong doing just there? The 19-year-old defensive midfielder has earned himself a booking by attempting to interfere with a Liverpool throw in on the right side - if you combine that with his idiotic lunge in the first few minutes it's not unreasonable to suggest that the Arsenal man should have been sent off within the first eight minutes. Yikes.
Arsenal Vs. Liverpool: Laurent Koscielny Injury Sees Ignasi Miguel Come On For Gunners
Arsenal have had a couple of decent counterattacking chances while Liverpool have threatened thanks to Charlie Adam's delivery from set-pieces, but it's all going a little wrong for each team in the final third. Minutes later Frimpong falls down in possession in the centre circle, the ball going about twenty yards up in the air. Then Stewart Downing rifles a right footed(!) shot home from range - but Andy Carroll has fouled Laurent Koscielny and it won't count.
Oh dear, and that’s Koscielny down (not related to the Carroll foul). The French centre half appears to have injured his lower back and it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to continue. Awful news for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, who may have to committ youngster Ignasi Miguel to the fray. That’s really really unfortunate - the defender is hobbling off very very slowly and Miguel is now coming on.
