Everton dominated the opening stages, but, despite Leighton Baines doing well down the left hand side and hitting the bar from a free kick, they find themselves behind. QPR started to grow in confidence and find their passing rhythm, and get Adel Taarabt involved. Finally, they broke through. Akos Buzasky won the ball of Phil Neville before playing a lovely pass for Tommy Smith, who turned and fired past Tim Howard into the bottom right corner. The shot took a slight deflection off Phil Jagielka, but was still a fantastic finish. What a difference a week makes for QPR: Last week, they were losing 4-0 at home to Bolton. This week, they’re 1-0 up, and have new ownership.
