Stamford Bridge breathes a sigh of relief as Florent Malouda knocks in the go-ahead goal, ten minutes before the end of normal time. Credit to Jose Bosingwa, though, for beautiful buildup play, slipping right in-between two West Bromwich Albion defenders before crossing to Malouda, who was lurking just at the far post. The Frenchman quickly slipped the ball into the back of the net, finally beating Ben Foster. And prompting Andre Villas-Boas to do an adorable little dance.
Chelsea Vs. West Bromwich Albion: Florent Malouda Puts Hosts Ahead, 2-1
Chelsea haven't made it easy on themselves this match, but they'd likely have had their second goal earlier had Foster not been so spot-on in goal. Of course, had Didier Drogba been looking a little sharper and not squandering chances, that would've helped relieve the tension as well.
West Brom aren’t quite ready to give up their share of the points, however. Substitute Peter Odemwingie had a great shot on goal, but Hilario managed a decent save to deny the striker.
