Well that didn't take long at all. Bayern Munich have scored the away goal they need to make it almost impossible for FC Zurich to turn this tie around and advance to the group stages of the Champions League, rather killing this game almost before it began. It's Mario Gomez who scores, of course, and there's no way back for Zurich.
FC Zurich Vs. Bayern Munich, 2011 Champions League Qualifiers: Bayern Score Away Goal, Wrap Up Tie
Apart from the goal, the match has been rather massively dull. There’ve been a few close calls at both ends, but at this point nothing seems particularly interesting because nothing matters at all. Zurich needed to score four goals in eighty minutes the moment Gomez knocked the ball home, and now they need to score four in forty-five to go through. It wasn’t going to happen and it still isn’t going to happen, and now this is the equivalent of a training session for the visitors. And so it is beyond boring.
