Stephen Strasburg's road back from Tommy John surgery in 2010 is nearing its final few twists before the phenom rejoins the Washington Nationals. CSN Washington's Mark Zuckerman reports that Strasburg is throwing a side session on Thursday, and could see live game action before the week is up:

Strasburg side session tomorrow. If all goes well, will pitch 1-2 innings Sunday at Hagerstown.Zuckerman also notes that early August rehab starts might mean that Strasburg will be back with the Nationals by early September.
Strasburg threw a simulated game at the Nationals’ spring training facility in Viera, Fl. on Tuesday, and SB Nation DC has video of that outing via CSN Washington. MASN Sports’ Ben Goessling reported that none of the batters Strasburg faced were able to get the ball out of the infield against him in that simulated game.
