NFL Free Agency Rumors: Oakland ‘Looking At’ Kevin Boss

There are a few things that never change, lockout or no. And one of them is that Al Davis is going to be active on the free-agent market. The other is that John Clayton sees everything. Which brings us to the collision of those two certainties:

Just confirming what everyone has been hearing, the Raiders are looking at Giants TE Kevin Boss, who is in Napa for a visit.less than a minute ago via yoono Favorite Retweet Reply

Boss had 531 yards and five touchdowns on 35 catches last year, which isn’t bad for a tight end, and he has the added bonus of having the last name “Boss.” The total yardage isn’t too flashy, but his 15.2 yards per reception average was ninth in the NFL among tight ends last year.

The former Giants tight end would be a replacement for Zach Miller, on his way to the Seahawks for a nice contract there. (And the relative stability that comes from working for an organization not controlled by Al Davis.) Whether Boss could fill the sizable hole Miller leaves in the Raiders' offense is anyone's guess. But if he wants to try, it looks like he might get the chance.

Stay with this storystream to get the latest free agent rumors. Head over to the NFL Free Agency hub for a look at the deals being made. And check out Silver And Black Pride for news and commentary about the Raiders.
