Syracuse senior WR Marcus Sales is facing felony drug charges after being arrested last Friday. With the first day of training camp underway at SU, head coach Doug Marrone announced that Sales was indefinitely suspended from the football team.
Syracuse WR Marcus Sales Suspended Indefinitely Following Drug Arrest
According to Syracuse police reports, Sales and his brother were taken into custody after drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in their car after their vehicle was stopped for running a red light. Sales was driving without his driver’s license on him and there was an open alcohol container in the car as well.
Sales, along with his brother, is facing charges of fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Sales appeared in Syracuse City Court on Thursday but the case was adjourned to Feb. 7th. Sales was released under the guidelines of the Pre-Trial Release Program.
Sales was slated to start for the Orange this season.
