Syracuse quarterback Jonny Miller and Colorado offensive lineman Bryce Givens were charged, respectively, with third-degree assault and false identification (Miller) and suspicion of robbery (Givens) Wednesday morning after an altercation with a man.
Syracuse QB Jonny Miller Suspended Indefinitely Following Arrest
Givens, already on suspension for 2011, had been dismissed from the team earlier on Friday. Syracuse coach Doug Marrone has now announced that Miller is indefinitely suspended from the Syracuse Orange football team.
Miller hasn't played yet for the Orange as he spent much of the past year reworking his arm mechanics after shoulder surgery. He was listed as the fourth-string QB on the team after starter Ryan Nassib, Charley Loeb and fellow sophomore John Kinder.
Miller was not present at Syracuse football preseason camp Friday.
Miller’s arrest capped a tumultuous week for the program. Last week, RB Prince-Tyson Gulley was stabbed at a late-night party and starting WR Marcus Sales was stopped in his car and arrest for various charges, including drugs.
