Cy Young Watch (A.L)

Jered Weaver pitched nine shutout innings Friday night against the M's (which is good, even considering, you know, it was the M's) and lowered his ERA to 1.78. He didn't get a W, but voters don't really hold that against guys so much anymore. So it was a good night for him.

Weaver's competition, Justin Verlander and CC Sabathia, both pitch Saturday; Verlander against the Royals and Sabathia against the Red Sox at Fenway.
