White Sox’ Zach Stewart Has Perfect Game Against Twins Through Seven Innings

The Chicago White Sox just got swept out of Detroit and perhaps close to out of the AL Central race. They weren't thrilled with ESPN's decision to have their game with the Tigers on Sunday moved to 8 p.m. ET because they had to play a split doubleheader with the Twins in Minnesota on Monday.

After winning the first game 2-1, the White Sox and starting pitcher Zach Stewart may be on the brink of history in the night game.

Stewart has not allowed a baserunner through seven innings at Target Field. He has struck out six Twins and thrown just 75 pitches, 51 of them strikes.

In the seventh inning, the Twins' Ben Revere led off and hit the second pitch of the inning for a short popup into left field that was caught by Juan Pierre. Then, Trevor Plouffe ran a 1-2 count before hitting a lazy fly ball to right field that was flagged down by Dayan Viciedo. And, the third out of the inning was a hard line drive hit by Joe Mauer to shortstop Alexei Ramirez.
